POSITION SUMMARY:
The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Specialist will develop
and implement Premier’s diversity initiatives and strategy to attract,
hire, retain, and engage a diverse workplace. This position will
collaborate with leaders and employees at all levels to implement
inclusive practices. The DEI Specialist will provide coaching and
training to support the development of employees and leaders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Designs and implements strategies to attract and retain employees
from diverse backgrounds. Collaborates with the HR team on
implementing an ongoing strategy to increase employee engagement and inclusion.
- Works closely with leadership to get buy-in on DEI initiatives.
Develops strategies to create a culture at Premier where inclusive
language and practices are modeled by leaders and employees at all levels.
- Provides DEI coaching and training to managers and employees.
Collaborates with the HR and training teams to provide DEI as part
of onboarding and employee / leadership development.
- Works closely with each line of business to align DEI strategy
with business objectives.
- Provides guidance to supervisory and human resources staff in
developing objective performance evaluation guidelines and inclusive
job descriptions.
- Provides guidance and support to the IDEA Council and collaborates
with members to advance their initiatives.
- Researches, develops, and executes creative strategies to foster
Premier’s DEI goals.
- Collects and analyzes statistical data to evaluate the credit
union’s population in accordance with DEI standards and goals.
- Acts as company liaison with government agencies concerning
affirmative action and equal employment opportunities.
- Maintains knowledge of DEI-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
- Provides data to management to show that DEI goals were achieved
within agreed upon timelines.
- Contributes to the implementation of HR strategic initiatives, as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ ABILITIES:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good coaching and training skills.
- Ability to collaborate with employees and leaders at all levels of
the organization.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to think strategically.
- High degree of professionalism.
- Coachable and open to constructive feedback.
- Prior experience with creating and implementing DEI initiatives is
a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field is
preferred or equivalent professional experience.
- Three to five years of Human Resources, management, or related
experience is required. Experience with diversity, equity, and
inclusion initiatives is required.

- Limited lifting up to 30 lbs.
