POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist in gathering internal and external business data for financial
analysis, ALM and reports. Ensure integrity and accuracy of source
data files, download processes, and data mapping to auxiliary systems.
Responsible for preparation of financial reports such as ALM,
investment, statistical and profitability analysis, risk and forecast
reports for management, ALCO, and the Board. Assist with the annual
budgeting process and forecasts in accordance with the strategic plan.
Act as a backup to AVP.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
*Ability to gather and interpret data for analysis and provide
advanced reports including variances, statistical, trends, risk
measurements, key performance indicators and overall results and
executive summaries
*Responsible for investment portfolio maintenance, accounting,
reconciliations and reporting.
*Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather effective
financial data and reports from various systems
*Review financial statements and related comprehensive analysis and
report variances and trends to management
*Assist in economic/financial research and analysis for use in
development of business strategies
*Interpret financial and operational data, provide insightful and
analytical explanations and make recommendations to management based
on findings
*Assist management in maintaining and monitoring integrity of all
finance-related systems and processes in a timely manner, ensuring
accuracy in data files, mapping and reporting with sufficient level of detail
*Prepare, upload, and balance ProfitStar ALM and Portfolio on a
monthly basis, maintain the chart of accounts with an appropriate
level of detail, produce standard and custom financial and analytical
reports and create and monitor what-if analysis and projected forecasts
*Assist in the development of the annual budget by obtaining
budgetary input from all lines of business and analyzing trends
affecting budgetary needs, provide budgetary assistance and reports to
cost center managers
*Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives; provide
ad hoc financial analysis as requested
*Responsible for maintaining knowledge and understanding of current
trends, laws, and issues affecting area of expertise
*Make recommendations and assist in developing methods and procedures
to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the finance department
*Train and provide guidance to Financial Analyst I and II staff
*Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
* Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting or related field
or equivalent experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
* Knowledge of financial services industry, including products and services
* Knowledge of related regulations
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Five years to eight years in accounting, finance or related area
* Experience working with financial systems and reporting
* Experience creating, reviewing, and analyzing financial inputs and outputs
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
* Strong analytical, financial modeling and reporting skills
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to dissect raw data into a summarized analysis
* High level of proficiency in the use of financial systems,
databases and related computer applications
* Strong time management and organizational skills
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Strong communication skills in listening, writing, and speaking
* Ability to identify moderate to difficult problems and recommend solutions
* Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
* Ability to work in a team environment
