Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Financial Services Specialist schedules appointments with members and MEMBERS Financial Service Representatives, markets the MEMBERS Financial Services program to credit union employees and members, and performs administrative functions in support of the MEMBERS Financial Services program. Develops relationships with credit union employees to help educate how to refer members to MEMBERS Financial Services. Services are professionally delivered and internal associates and members are provided excellent member service.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Build member relationships that deliver value and demonstrate that we care
    •    Schedule appointments with MEMBERS Financial Services representatives and members in accordance with department standards
    • Call on credit union members with maturing certificates
    •    Consistently meet department quality, service and production standards that promote member satisfaction, retention and expansion
    •    Promote and market the MEMBERS Financial Services program to credit union employees and members
    •    Assist with seminars, make room arrangements, assemble packets, and confirm seminar attendance
    •    Coordinate lobby displays and ensure materials are well supplied and current
    •    Coordinate mailings of newsletters, surveys, seminars, review letters, and appointment information forms
    • Maintain correspondence and advertising logs
    • Manage and report on incoming and outgoing prospect referrals and manage member data using Salesforce
    • Scan checks into brokerage accounts
    •    Maintain member marketing lists to ensure information is current and accurate
    •    Type memos, reports and correspondence
    •    Manage calendars
    •    Analyze, sort and deliver incoming mail for MEMBERS Financial Services advisors
    •    Provide telephone coverage
    •    Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner
    •    Prep materials for appointments
    • Assist with Client Onboarding
    • Maintain up-to-date and accurate filing system
    •    Make photocopies, scan or fax documents and perform other clerical functions
    •    Exhibit support for the organization’s mission, vision, purpose, goals, initiatives, and cost control
    •    Embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills and software applications
    • Assist department in project planning, research, project tasks and completion
  • Work within department processes and procedures in accordance with established policy guidelines and standards, and ensure they are properly documented
  • Complete required reports and related documents promptly and accurately
  • Ensure that the Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained internally and externally
  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
  • Comply with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other compliance requests and requirements

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education/Certification:        

  • Associate’s Degree and/or 2 years of recent and related work experience required
  • Complete Colorado Producers License within 6 months of hire

 

Required Knowledge:  

  • Basic knowledge of investment and retirement options

 

Experience Required:               

  • Minimum of one year of administrative experience. Prior financial institution sales experience preferred

  • explain credit union products, programs and benefits to members and prospective members

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of Premier Members financial products and services
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to maintain confidences
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively to balance workday and to complete all assigned duties in a timely manner
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of operating systems. 
  • Clear communication, proficient math and typing skills 
  • Must have a professional appearance, dress and attitude
